Our Staff:
Tracy Oseran, Founder and Executive Director
Tracy started Urban Gleaners six years ago with the simple observation that there were hungry people in the Portland community who could be fed with good edible food that was being thrown away everyday in our city. Urban Gleaners found eager recipients for the rescued food at several local organizations that feed the hungry. Tracy was previously the owner of a catering company in Los Angeles and sold a packaged food product in local grocery stores. Her love of food and interest in community activism was a natural combination that led to the founding of Urban Gleaners.

Jane Anne Morton, Assistant Director
Jane Anne is our incredible Assistant Director and Volunteer Coordinator. Since 2008, she has helped Urban Gleaners grow from a small, grassroots effort into the organization it is today. Jane Anne expertly organizes our volunteers to ensure that all food pick-ups and deliveries happen efficiently and on-time. A trained chef, she also makes the delicious Tracy’s~Small Batch Granola every morning (all proceeds go to Urban Gleaners).

Emily Kanter, Development & Communications Coordinator/Food to Schools Coordinator
Emily moved to Portland last fall from Cambridge, MA, where she was the Director of the Sustainable Business Leader Program and Outreach Coordinator for the Boston Local Food Festival, an event that attracted over 40,000 people in its first year. She brings to Urban Gleaners a strong background in the natural foods industry; her family has owned and operated a natural foods grocery and health care store in Cambridge for over 37 years. Emily is passionate about creating a strong local food system in Portland that benefits the entire community.

John Campaine, Driver
John has been Urban Gleaners’ driver since 2009, and is an essential member of our team. John does regular pick-up and delivery routes, as well as stepping in when volunteers are away. Formerly a resident of Blanchet House (one of the agencies that Urban Gleaners works with), John has a deep understanding of issues of hunger. He is a champion of our Food to Schools Program, ensuring that the best quality fresh foods get delivered to young children in need.
